Event Design incorporates all the elements of an event from table centrepiece and special effects to music and entertainment and your job is to take all these pieces and create something visually stunning out of nothing. Upon completion you will be a Certified Event Designer.

Diploma in Wedding Planning, Styling and Design - $1850.00

Are you imaginative with creative flair and a penchant for weddings? If so this course will show you how to understand colour, design from a blank canvass whilst also honing your planning skills to produce and create weddings that are both stylish and planned to perfection. Upon completion you will be a Certified Wedding Planner and Designer.

Adv Dip in Special Event Planning & Design - $2500.00

If you have enjoy all aspects of events from the styling and design to the planning and execution then this is the perfect course as it covers all the units offered in other courses in one big course. Upon completion you will be a Certified Master Special Event Planner and Designer.

The tutorial team at the New Zealand Academy is led by its founder, Kylie Carlson, who has spent over 20 years working within the industry as a planner, stylist and designer. It is under her guidance and watchful eye that our team of tutors operate offering a combined knowledge base that is second to none

The Academy’s team of tutors are based around the world and all work virtually allowing our students to benefit from a wider knowledge base. All tutors have worked within their own businesses in the special events industry for a minimum of 5 years, and as a condition of employment must successfully complete any of the courses they tutor with a distinction. Kylie personally mentors our tutors for a minimum 3 month period to ensure a high quality of tuition and feedback on assignments is maintained.

We have two specialist tutors, Sasha Livingstone who leads the team of Wedding and Event Planning tutors and Miranda Williams who leads the team of Styling and Design tutors. Both have extensive experience in their fields and have worked with Kylie for many years.

Sasha’s passion is planning and she enjoys the mental challenges that present themselves when coordinating large-scale events. Her forte is event budgeting and her expertise are renowned in the industry for being able to produce spectacular events on some very small budgets.

Miranda has an eye for colour and her passion is creating event inspiration boards for her clients. She has a portfolio full of ideas to share with her students to help them in their studies. Her forte is theme creation and her ability to pull together all the elements of an event with style and panache is enviable.

Between them Sasha and Miranda work with a team of 10 tutors but are always on the look out for more talent. Training is provided so it is not essential to know our current curriculum. What we are looking for is the ability to share your own working experience with our students to help them apply what they learn in a practical way.
